in november 2186 the first terraforming stations were set up. the 2 main goals of these stations were to first, converse the high CO2 atmosphere into a nitrogen rich atmosphere similer to that of earth so that one could breath unassisted. second to melt the ice caps and cover mars once more with water. soon after scientists discover a way to manufacture a special layer over the atmosphere to keep more of the heat inside, thus heating mars to a more comfortable level, about 10 degrees Cel on average. this made heating the ice caps much easier and allowed for plants to be grown much easier. at currant date, the air is semi breathable, though
